Title: 2019 Mustang Bullitt - Paintwork Finish
Post by: JCT on December 08, 2018, 06:28:37 AM
For anyone who has ordered a Bullitt, I'm sure you will but prior to accepting the car, pay very very close attention to the finish of the paintwork.

Think anyone buying a new Mustang should pay particular attention to the paintwork and panel alignment before picking the car up.
They sometimes need to be improved as the build of the cars can be a bit rushed by the looks of some cars.

Is that code for "they are poor quality cars?"

No, just some minor adjustments that should be done at the factory may need doing and some  have had blemishes in the paint that arenít acceptable. Not just a Mustang thing.

To me, a new car that has paint blemishes and panel alignment issues should never have left the factory in the first place, as we all know how dealers really respond to customer complaints.....,

Sorry but of course thatís what it means. Your saying people should check their cars for fundamental build issues on delivery. If that is so then the builder has extremely poor quality control in their plant.

In the last 10 years Iíve probably taken delivery of 15 new vehicles (not US built) and never experienced a panel alignment or paint issue.

Yes. Unfortunately the paint and panel alignment probably isnít as good as what a Falcon used to be, so inspection before delivery is a must.

I have one on order and have been advised that Bullit production was recently delayed due to a paint review after ongoing dealer feedback regarding paint. Apparently the issue has been closed and production has recommenced.
