Air shocks are well known to cause cracking where they mount.

Why do you want air shocks? A good set of Bilstein or Koni would be better. I had air shocks on my 66 when I bought it, ended up taking them off.

I have the car sitting fairly low on 20Ē torque thrusts and have some scrubbing with current setup, donít want to fold the guards because of the fear of paint cracking, thinking air shocks would stiffen her up a bit. Can easily reinforce mounts, no issues there

Was hoping to find a cheap set to trial..

I think it was the top mounts (ie body) that cracks, not the leaf spring plates.
