64 1/2 hood
« on: February 14, 2019, 06:15:24 PM »
Hi all my 64 1/2 hood is badly damaged and needs replacing.
Are the 65 hoods the same apart from the obvious unfolded front corners. I priced them up and there’s about $500 difference. Any help would be great.
Car is ready after 3 years total ground up rebuild for its full repaint in raven black.😁

the hoods on around first 100 or 1,000 cars (don't remember exactly at the moment), had the front lip folded over just like a 65/66 hood but still used the 64 1/2 buckets. other than that and the date code and plant of manufacturer, the hoods are physically exactly the same.

Also of note is that some March 64 built Mustangs had galvanised hoods like mine has.
