distributor for 390
« on: February 07, 2019, 03:27:40 PM »
Hi Guys, I am looking for a complete distributor for my '69 Mach 1 which has a 390 4V motor and a C6 auto. Mine is knackered & been quoted around $500 to fix so if someone has a dizzy to suit thats in reasonable shape would love to hear from you.

I've got one somewhere but I'll have to have a look for it.

I might have some parts lying around that you could make a dist from - a Motorcraft casing, vac advance and a good shaft etc, depends what's wrong with your existing distributor....

Thanks Jiffy, my dizzy didn't engage the oil pump drive & pushed the shaft up through the unit wrecking most internal parts. Do you think your parts might rescue that sort of damage ?

Is your points plate ok?
If itís ok and the casing/shaft is screwed then you should be able to piece it together.
Youíll need springs and clips and stuff but youíre welcome to it if it helps. Iíll check in the weekend.

Sorry simo, but I'm unable to find it. I know I have one, but I've been packing things ready for a move and like an idiot I didn't lable any boxes.

Many thanks to every one who has helped me with this problem, it's really appreciated and a lot of things I would have struggled with if it wasn't for this forum. Also a big thanks to Peter who supplied me with a rebuildable unit that was transformed by the crew at Performance Ignition, Nunawading.
