I have just completed replacing the ignition switch and I have previously replaced the solenoid. The reason for replacing these parts is that the engine would not turn off when I turned off the ignition. I had to disconnect the battery to turn the motor off.
Today, after completing the ignition switch I started the car and it started the first time. When I turned off the ignition the motor kept on running. I disconnected the battery to shut down the motor.
When I went to start the car again the motor turned over but would not start.
Has anyone experienced the same problems?
Nigel

Have you checked to make sure the power to the coil is cut when the ignition switch is in the 'off' position?
Cheers,
Brian
