Fuel Range.??
« on: November 19, 2018, 06:58:22 AM »
G"Day All,
I know it depends on how its driven but what sort of range are you getting from a tank of fuel and how big is the fuel tank.??
Im interested mainly in highway travel at speed limit of course in standard mode.
Vehicle has just under 2000klms on it so far.
Regards
Wiradjuri

60 litre tank . Hwy driving at 100 kph around 8.5 litres  or better per 100 klm . The V8 is very good on fuel on a hwy run .

Fuel consumption cruising at 110km/h (yes I know cruise says 115 and the analog speedo says 120 .... but the actual GPS verified speed at 115 on cruise is between 110 and 111)

8.7l/100km when cruising  :event: It has since gotten even a bit better now that it has 7000km on the clock.

In town with its current mods and moderatly aggresive driving I'm getting 18.7l/100km!!!!!!

Well I can tell you it may say 60L but you get 50L. So that being said for a 5.0 V8 its good.

City driving... 250km - 18.5km/L
Highway... 450km - 8.6km/L

I have to say I was impressed with the fuel economy. Keep it under 2kRPM (not very exciting) and you will get 300km city driving.

The 418 cube motor I had was over 30 L/100ks closer to 35 L/100 k, changed cam and added fuel injection bought it down to 26-28 L/100 Ks.
Currently running 438 cubes with more HP and Torque haven't checked fuel economy would expect 28L/100ks.
I am not ready to be fitted for a Prius yet.

I am with Allan,
Not quite Mustang related but similar cubes......my Hemi Challenger with 426 cubes gives me about the same of 30l/100 but hey.....it's one hell of a ride which I love and never worried about economy. I love my fossil fuels and not quiet ready to get in a Tesla to save the world. Too old for that crap...

I am a bit statistically anal. Since owning my 16GT auto I've averaged 9.4 litres per 100. That's predominantly freeway driving with about 10%.

With 95,000 is on her I'm pretty confident in saying that's a reliable indicator of what you can expect.

A mate has a 2008 Shelby (with larger cam, throttle body etc) and tuned properly, on country driving it gets 6.5 L/100 km
