aod repair or service
« on: October 08, 2017, 10:24:48 PM »
hi guys, does anyone know a mechanic familiar with AOD trans in either Melbourne or Adelaide? was talking to a bloke at street and strip automatics at Seaford in Melbourne and thought I had him teed up but he doesn't answer his phone anymore, don't know what has happened to him so I am looking for anyone that would know what they are doing to service an AOD. cheers

Give Pat a call here

https://www.yellowpages.com.au/vic/clayton/j-p-clayton-automatics-12163434-listing.html

I have had sensational service from him in the past as have others on here I've recommended him to. Very fair pricing, excellent customer service and the cleanest workshop I've ever seen which I reckon is always a good sign. He is a real perfectionist who takes great pride in his work.

well J & P Clayton Automatics was a waste of time. First the lady disputed there is such a box as an AOD
Left my number and was told Pat would call back  That didnt happen
Then after calling back twice trying to find out whether they will build one they tell me that  400hp is to much for an AOD and so they dont build them anymore

Well if that's what happened I apologise for giving you and the original poster what turned out to be a bum steer. I can only say that what you describe is diametrically opposed to my experience with them, and that others on here have reported.

I haven't been there for a few years now as I haven't had an auto for a while but I am very, very surprised.

Most Australian auto shops have never heard of them, a service kit is cheap for them a pan gasket and filter thats really all they do if its working ok,
