MataMata panel works
« on: October 16, 2017, 07:38:08 PM »
I have just come home from doing a 3 week campervan tour of New Zealand's north and south islands. Drove through a town called MataMata in the north island and stopped in at MataMata panel works. Do yourself a favour and take a look at the fabrication work this mob does on mustangs and others. I was there last week and popped in and was given at least a 1 hour tour of the shops of which I saw some of the best fab work with steel I have ever seen. There was 2 65/66 fastbacks there on rotisseries that were already painted and the level of work on them was up there with the Ring brothers or maybe even better. Check them out on Facebook or Instagram or if in NZ pop in and have a look. Check out the xa coupe. :omg: Malcolm is the owner and a great bloke. :thumb:

Hi Barry , all the metal work is hand fabricated. No fiberglass , all steel.  The side scoops on the mustangs were amazing and must be seen close up to appreciate them , and the underbody work like chassis connectors ,  floor pans , front clip braces all hand made in house. Not a bolt on in site unless it was fabricated there then bolted on like the engine bay shrouds they were beating out while I was there. You have to see it in real life to appreciate it.
