Monday 8th - Newsletter Submissions Due

Sunday 21st - LAKESIDE - Historic Racing Car Club QLD meeting
9.00am Meet at Lawnton Park between Lawnton and Petrie. Entry is via Leis Parade (left off Gympie Road) just before the bridge over the North  Pine River.
9.15am Head back out onto Gympie Road, over the bridge, right at the roundabout on to Anzac Avenue, and then left at the water tower onto Narangba Road. Then it is left at the Kurwongbah Golf Club into Lakeside Road which takes us to the famous LAKESIDE circuit.
I will leave it to others to organise amongst themselves if they want meet first and drive to Lawnton Park as a smaller group. Similarly, those that can’t make it to the meeting place, we will hook up with them once we have parked at the track.

Sunday 4th – Easter Run - Club Run
Happy Easter........you’ve eaten all your Eggs and had a Hot Cross Bun or two for brekky, now it’s time to start up the Mustang and cruise down the Pacific Highway for lunch at Harrigan’s Irish Pub – Calypso Bay.  Meeting at BP Yatala – Exit 38 – Southbound – Pacific Highway 10.30am for an 11.00am departure.  Harrigan’s is a great place to eat, great views, plenty of parking, indoor and outdoor dining and something on the menu to suit everyone.  If you’d like to join us for an easy Easter Sunday Run – please RSVP Cheryll  White – a/h 3376 9914, or Cheryll.66@bigpond.com not later than Wednesday Club Meeting, 24th March, 2010, I will be interstate from Tuesday, 30th March so please RSVP by 24th March as tables will need to be booked.

Saturday 17th – Mustang Birthday Run
Happy 46th Birthday to our Beauties – and we’re off to the Esk Races to celebrate in style.  A flutter on the gg’s, a picnic lunch, a bubbly or two and let’s not forget the Birthday Cake.   So, if you feel like pulling out your favourite “Race Hat” and heading to Esk – meet us at Cafe Kik’s – Fernvale for coffee at 9.30am and we’ll head to the Track at 10.30am – entry fee is yet to be confirmed by the Race Track but last year was $10.00/car (just to give you a guide).  BYO Picnic or if you would like to be part of the combined lunch – “finger food” – let Cheryll know what you’ll be bringing (or you can do your own thing – your choice).....Absolutely NO ALCOHOL is to be brought into the Races, all to be purchased from the Track.  This Race Meeting is in aid of Breast Cancer.  RSVP to Cheryll White – a/h 3376 9914 or cheryll.66@bigpond.com not later than Friday, 9th April, 2010.  GIDDY UP.....

Tuesday 27th April - Wednesady 5th May - Proposed Capricornia Cruise 2010
Briefly, we have been invited to attend the Emerald All Ford Affair and quite a few people approached me to put together another Capricorn Cruise.  The trip extends up the coast from Brisbane via Yeppoon to the Emerald city and back via an inland route starting on Tuesday 27th April 2010 and arriving home Wednesday 5th May 2010.
For those not attending the weekend of motoring mayhem in Montville, we are now offering the calm and carefree Capricorn Cruise to the Country.  The expected travel distance is around 2000km over 8 days.
Suggested Itinerary:
Day 1 (Tuesday 27 April)- Depart home for Hervey Bay - stay the night
Day 2 (Wednesday 28th April) - Depart Hervey Bay for Yeppoon – stay 2 nights
Day 4 (Friday 30th April) - Depart Yeppoon for Emerald – stay 3 nights Emerald for All Ford Affair – car show, cruises, partying.
Day 7 (Monday 3rd May) - Depart Emerald for the trek home – 2 night trip home via one of the following routes to be decided..
Emerald – Banana – Miles – Dalby – Toowoomba – Brisbane
Emerald – Biloela – Gayndah – Kingaroy – Brisbane
Emerald – Injune – Roma – Dalby – Brisbane
As you can appreciate, accommodation is booking up fast in Emerald, so your expression of interest would be most welcome as soon as possible.  We anticipate that indicative numbers will be required by the 15th December with final numbers and deposits required by 30th March 2010.

Saturday 1st-Monday 3rd May 2010 – All Ford Affair, Emerald – Event of Interest
The Falcon GT Owners Club (QLD) & Newhaven Ford invites us to the All Ford Affair. Located at Newhaven Ford, Gregory Hwy, Emerald. Saturday 1st – Monday 3rd May – The Annual Mustang Motoring Mayhem in Montville
We are now taking bookings for this weekend so get in quick before all the rooms book out, below are some details for the weekend away.
Meet at BP Caboolture - 9.30am for 10am departure
Go Kart Racing at Landsborough
Lunch - Gowinter at Beerwah 12md - 1.30pm approx.
Check into motel at Montville approx 2pm -  then free time to wonder around the quaint little cafes, shops etc in Montville/Maleny and surrounding area
BBQ / Fancy Dress 6pm on verandah at Motel - American Flavour Dress code,  BYO meat, $10 per couple for salads/plates etc
Sunday breakfast at the Penny Farthing in Montville approx 8am
Meet daytrippers at Mary Cairncross Park near Maleny at 10am for scenic drive to Kenilworth (approx 45mins) please note there is 3 klms of narrow road with soft edges.
Lunch in Kennilworth will be a 'do your own thing', we'll use the town park as a meeting point. There is the Kennilworth Cheese Factory which has free cheese tasting, & light lunches available, cheese/fruit platter with glass wine for 2 for under $20. Or you can go to the Kennilworth Historic pub for a counter lunch just a short stroll up the road, or try the 'delicious' pastries at the local bakery with seating and air con. or any one of the cafes in the main street, there are also a number of gallery's to peruse.
The Kennilworth Cheese Factory also sells small chilly bags and re-usable freezer blocks for those who can't resist their 'very' tempting cheese and yogurt selection, or 'Bum Hummers' you'll have to find out for yourself what they are!
Sunday night will be a casual BYO cheese'n'bickies night on the  verandah of the motel starting about 6pm, those who wish to dine out can make their own arrangements.
Monday breakfast will be catered for by us on the verandah, cereal, toast, juice, fruit etc. $10 per couple, tea/coffee available in your room.
Checkout of the motel about 10am and those who wish to can go for a drive to 'Allo Allo' a quaint little french tea room/nursery/gift shop at Flaxton, or spend some more time in the Montville precinct of beautiful galleries, gift shops, cafe's etc.
Just a short drive to 'Maudy's' at Witta for lunch, they are offering a 2 course lunch (3 way alternatate drop) and self serve tea/coffee for $25 per head, and also a pie and chips with self serve tea/coffee for $10 per head. The restaurant is lisensed but The Mustang Owners Club does not condone not encourage drink driving. You can head home at your leisure.
The Montville Mountain Inn charges us $165 for one nights accommodation or $290 for 2 nights accommodation, all rooms have a fold out sofa bed, you can book either Saturday or Sunday night, you don't have to come for both. We will be catering for 2 of the meals as usual to try to keep costs down, if you wish to go out to another nice restaurant while away for the w/end feel free to make your own arrangments.

This will be the 4th time we've had a weekend away in Montville and I'm quite sure it will prove to be as enjoyable, fun and memorable as the previous ones. So book in before it's too late.

Meeting 8.00am Shell Nudgee – 1097 Nudgee Road, Banyo for an 8.30am departure.  Heading for Mary Cairncross Park – Maleny, where we will stop for a coffee break and meet up with the “Montville Mayhemers”.  Departing 10.30am and heading for Kenilworth for lunch – approx 45min drive (note, there is 3klm’s of narrow road with soft edges).  Kenilworth Town Park will be our meeting point and from there you can head off and “do your own thing” for lunch.  BYO Picnic, Pub Lunch, Cafe’s, Cheese Platter from the famous Kenilworth Cheese Factory – you’re spoilt for choice.  There’s even a couple of vineyards in the area if you want to stop off on the way home.  RSVP Cheryll White - not later than 28th April, 2010 a/h 3376 9914 or cheryll.66@bigpond.com
